Known for his frank and very bitter taste, XX is made with pale pilsner malts and two hop flowers varieties (Brewers Gold and Hallertau). This was a revolution for dry-hoppig beers and bitter style beers in recent years in Belgium
The name comes from the ancient abbey Guldenberg in Wevelgem, birthplace of one of the brewers at De Ranke. According to data from the «Flandria Illustrata» brewing was part of the monastry’s core activities in the middle ages.
The heaviest of the range, with a very rich flavor through the use 7 different malts. This beer has a rich profile, deep, almost black in texture. The generous dose of Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops provides a balance between sweetness and bitterness.
Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.
